A quiet bathroom break turned into a nightmare for one Thai man who was bitten on the testicles by a massive python hiding in his toilet. 🐍
Imagine sitting on the toilet and suddenly feeling the worst pain of your life. That’s what happened to Thanat Thangtewanon on Tuesday, when a 12-foot python clamped down on his testicles while he was mid-relief.
“I felt something biting my balls. It was very painful… I was shocked that I grabbed a snake,” he told local media.
🩸 A Bloody Battle in the Bathroom
Thanat instinctively reached down, grabbed the snake by its neck, and tried to yank it off. When that didn’t work, he grabbed the nearest weapon a toilet brush and started beating the snake’s head until it let go. He then pulled the bloody creature out of the bowl.
Photos he posted to social media show the serpent dead and the bathroom splattered in blood. Fortunately, Thanat’s injuries were not life-threatening he only needed a tetanus shot and didn’t require stitches.
“My testicles are safe now… but I haven’t used that toilet again since.”

😳 Snake Attacks in Thai Toilets Aren’t Rare
Unfortunately, this isn’t a one-off event in Thailand. Here are some other terrifying toilet snake encounters:
- 🐍 2016: A 10-foot python bit Attaporn Boonmakchuay’s penis in Chachoengsao province. He survived after wrestling it off.
- 🐍 2020: A woman was bitten on the thigh and beat the snake with a hammer.
- 🐍 2020: A 7-foot python bit another woman’s buttocks in Samut Prakan.
- 🐍 2023: A 12-foot python was found lurking in a toilet by a woman washing her hands.
In all these cases, the snakes likely slithered in through home plumbing systems, often during rainy seasons or in areas near natural habitats.

🐍 How to Stay Safe From Toilet Snakes
- Always check the toilet bowl before sitting, especially in areas prone to snakes.
- Install a toilet lid seal or mesh screens in drains and plumbing.
- Call animal control immediately if you see a snake don’t try to handle it alone.
- Keep bathrooms clean and sealed, as pythons are drawn to cool, dark spaces.
🔚 Final Thoughts
While snake-in-toilet stories sound like urban legends, in parts of Thailand, they’re disturbingly real. Thanat’s story is both horrifying and oddly heroic and a grim reminder to always look before you sit. 😳🚽
