Mia Khan has three sons and eight daughters. Because of his poor financial situation, he couldnโ€™t afford to educate all of them. Most people in his village would have chosen the boys.

โ€œI want them to have a future. I want them to become doctors and help our people,โ€ he says.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ A Motherโ€™s Sacrifice

Khanโ€™s wife, Khorma, supports his dream and made sacrifices of her own. When Khan fell ill and could no longer work, she got a job as a janitor in a hospital to support the family.

โ€œI saw educated women working there, holding pens and papers, earning more,โ€ she says.

๐Ÿง  A Dream from the Past

Khanโ€™s passion for education started in his childhood. He was once a student too but had to drop out when his father forced him to work.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Changing Minds in the Village
