Talk about a cheesy traffic jam.
In the early hours of July 2, a crash involving three tractor-trailers turned a Pennsylvania highway into a mozzarella-covered mess forcing authorities to shut down eastbound lanes near Snow Shoe, PA.
๐ The Crash That Covered 200 Yards in Cheese
The accident happened around 5 a.m., and according to the Snow Shoe Fire Company, one of the trucks was carrying a full load of shredded mozzarella cheese, while another was hauling sanitation wipes an ironic twist given the cleanup ahead.
Photos from the scene showed a surreal stretch of highway blanketed in cheese, broken boxes, and emergency crews wading through the dairy disaster.
โThe trailer hauling the cheese was split wide open with debris all over the roadway,โ the department reported.

๐ No Injuries, Just a Whole Lot of Cheese
Fortunately, no one was injured, and no hazardous materials were involved in the crash. But the mozzarella? Sadly, it didn’t make it.
โAll cheese will be headed to the landfill,โ officials confirmed.
โThe load was deemed unsalvageable after sitting unrefrigerated for hours.โ
๐ฐ Not the First Highway Headache of 2025
This gooey crash follows another bizarre highway incident earlier this year. In April, a semi-truck crash in Texas spilled 8 million dimes across the road, shutting down traffic for nearly 14 hours.
๐ง Final Thoughts
Whether itโs dimes or dairy, 2025 seems to be the year of unexpected road disasters. If nothing else, this incident reminds us that sometimes, you really can have too much cheese in one place.
