Lucy Roberts, 39, from East Yorkshire, has been jailed for 28 months after stealing over $165,000 worth of diamonds, silver, and gold from a luxury jewelry store she managed.
Working at Daniella Draper in Beverley, she claimed she was taking stock home to “sort it for the workshop.” Instead, she helped herself to hundreds of items. She later quit and went on a cruise! 🛳
Her ex-colleagues got suspicious when she started sending selfies wearing luxury jewelry they knew she didn’t buy. 👀💍
Police searched her home and found boxes of stolen pieces hidden under her bed and in cupboards. When she landed back at Heathrow, officers caught her wearing even more stolen jewelry, with more found in her suitcase!
She tried to deny it all, saying a former co-worker “lent” her the items and that the rest were “planted.” 🙄
In total, 269 stolen items were recovered from her bedroom, worth nearly $150,000. She had another $20,000 on her when she was arrested.
